I recently implemented a php commenting form into my website and it was working fine until the free web hosting service I was using deleted my site due to an error in the script. Luckily I had backed everything up, and I was able to restore it on another free web hosting service. So the site was down for a full day, which would be pretty bad if it actually saw any traffic.
Which brings me to suggestions, namely, whether anybody reading has any. As I enter my last semester of education, I'm preparing to "launch myself," so-to-speak. I want to have a web page that reflects me, so I figured I'd ask anybody who reads me here and is a fan of my work what they might want to see on my page. I've thought about a purchase system, but I'm wondering if my bandcamp fulfills that need. Then again, for the 4 years that I've had it, I've made a modest 50$, not exactly enough to support myself.
I plan on working in QA testing for games in the coming year to feed production stuff. Hopefully I'll pick up a few projects along the way. I'm still working on the indie game TIE with programmer/artist Tony Nowak. It's coming along really well. So far I have 4/7 songs completed, and 2 more that are close to being finished. Still have foley sound & ambiance stuff to record, but I don't imagine those will prove as big as a challenge that the songs have been.
If all goes according to plan, this project will be finished come May. I'm really excited about it. I've put a lot of work into everything, and I feel like even if there wasn't a game associated with it I would readily release this as a personal album. That is to say, I've put a lot of myself into this, which is what Tony Nowak is doing with the game design, so I felt it was only appropriate (if not necessary) to do it with the soundtrack.
Here's the last song that you'll hear in the game if you'd like to give it a listen. I won't say more than that because I want the structure of the game to speak for itself when it comes out :)
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!
